SAVAC is happy to co-present Piece of Mind by Erin Hembrador at the Breakthroughs Film Festival. She writes: “An elderly Filipino man finds a young, distraught woman rummaging through his yard. After realizing the young woman is also Filipino and understands Tagalog, he invites her over for lunch.” The film screens on Saturday, June 8, 2019 starting from 3pm at The Royal Cinema.
Erin Hembrador is a Filipino-Canadian filmmaker from Winnipeg. Erin uses her diverse voice to tell stories that are close to her, but have universal meaning. Her directorial debut “Piece of Mind” earned her a nomination for Best Manitoban Director at the Gimli Film Festival.
