It’s that time of the summer. Yep, you guessed it! It’s SAVAC picnic time. We invite you to come and bask in the sunshine with us, enjoy some delicious lunch, and make some new friends. Whether you’re a seasoned member of the SAVAC community or new in town, we want you here.

As we learn to lean on one another in times of turbulent change, we are evoking replenishment through the metaphor of filling each other’s cups. In this spirit, please bring your favourite, refreshing summery drink to share. Bonus points if they are homemade! We will have plenty of ice, water, and food. 

Join us in bidding a fond farewell to Indu, special welcome to Vanessa, meet our new board members, and catch up with Abedar and Sophie. 

What to Expect

Picnic tables will be available for those who can’t sit on the ground. We will have games (badminton, ring toss, and bocce) and children’s activities (coloring books, toys, and board games) available during the event. 

Feel free to bring blankets, lawn chairs, games, toys and whatever brings you comfort and joy for a family picnic. We encourage you to bring tupperware to take leftovers home, and reusable plates, cups, and utensils to help minimize waste. 

Accessibility

Parking available nearby and paved pathways into the park at Dundas and Crawford. The closest streetcar stop is Dundas St W at Shaw St and is a 3-minute walk from our picnic site.
