Tapestry

In 2010 SAVAC Education Officer Allan Tong worked with the TDSB (Toronto District School Board) to create a lesson plan for "Tapestry" a film by Sharlene Bamboat, which was shown at Monitor 6.

 

"Tapestry" at Asian Heritage Month

SAVAC is collaborating with the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board in presenting the film, Tapestry, as part of the school boards' Asian Heritage Month curriculum for May 2010.

 

 

"Making a House a Home" - drawing workshop

The goal of this activity is to use drawing, sharing and narration to explore the complex meanings behing the word "home." For members of a diaspora community, how does generation affect an understanding of home, or homeland? Does one refer to a place as "home" despite never having lived there?


   

Big Stories, Little India
